Het korte antwoord
The Mobile Marketing test is an intermediate, timed assessment of practical judgment in marketing a mobile app. It measures how candidates acquire users, turn installs into active users, retain those users and read the numbers behind those decisions. Use it when hiring mobile marketing managers and analysts, user acquisition specialists, app store optimization managers, or lifecycle and CRM marketers.
Wat het meet
How well a candidate acquires, activates and retains mobile app users, and reads the numbers behind those decisions.
User acquisition
Covers winning app installs through paid channels and app store listings.
User activation
Covers turning new app installs into active users.
User retention
Covers keeping app users coming back.
Question formats
Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
Mobile marketing managers and analysts, user acquisition specialists, app store optimization managers, app marketing and growth managers, lifecycle and CRM marketers, and digital marketers moving into mobile.
Evidence tied to mobile app work
See decisions, not just claims
Campaign, funnel and cohort tables show how candidates read mobile app numbers and act on them.
App store listings and paid channels
Acquisition questions cover app store listings as well as paid channels, so you see how a candidate handles both routes to installs.
Keep scenarios product-neutral
Invented apps and general categories mean candidates do not need experience with particular brands, platforms or tools.
Use accessible scenario details
Costs appear as plain numbers, the arithmetic is light enough for scratch paper, and scenarios avoid holidays, sports and local events.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Assessment integrity signals
Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large question pools, in a different order, with shuffled answer options. The browser shows one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. The 10-minute timer runs on the server; reloading restores the same question with only the remaining time. Candidates cannot return to an earlier question. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and unusually fast answers, then summarizes them in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for employer review. The score does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, employers can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as one signal
Review the score alongside a work sample and a structured interview, not as a stand-alone decision or cutoff. For a work sample, ask candidates to interpret an app campaign, funnel or cohort table and explain a next step. Compare their reasoning with the evidence shown. Vragen voor gestructureerde sollicitatiegesprekken
A paid campaign brings installs, but few users become active. How would you investigate the funnel and choose a next step?
Listen for how the candidate reads the numbers, separates acquisition from activation, and explains a decision based on the evidence.
An app store listing attracts visits but few installs. What would you examine and how would you decide what to change?
Listen for a clear way to assess the listing’s role in acquisition and connect observations to a practical action.
How would you use cohort patterns to decide whether to change a retention effort?
Listen for how the candidate interprets changes over time and explains what evidence would inform a retention decision.

Fairness and accommodations
Questions use invented apps and general app categories rather than real brands, platforms or tools, so no product experience is assumed. Costs appear as plain numbers without currency symbols, the arithmetic is light enough for scratch paper, and scenarios avoid holidays, sports and local events. Names and audiences are varied in gender, age and origin, and the wording is plain US English with marketing terms used as the role uses them.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
