Het korte antwoord
The Angular assessment is a 10-minute hiring test for intermediate front-end and full-stack developers who build Angular applications. Candidates answer multiple-choice questions about small TypeScript and template snippets. The test measures working knowledge of components, directives, pipes, forms, services, RxJS and application structure, giving employers focused evidence to review.
Wat het meet
Working knowledge of Angular components, templates, directives, pipes, forms, services, RxJS and application structure.
Components
Candidates interpret Angular component code and consider what it does or what might go wrong.
Directives, pipes and forms
Questions examine template snippets involving directives, pipes and forms.
Services and RxJS
Candidates reason about how services and RxJS are used in Angular applications.
Modularity and core modules
Questions cover how an Angular application is organized through modularity and core modules.
Question formats
Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
Front-end and full-stack developers who build Angular applications and components on their own or in a team of peers at a similar level.
What the Angular assessment can show
Evidence beyond a resume
See candidates interpret Angular code snippets and choose an approach, rather than relying only on a list of claimed experience.
A focused skills check
One short assessment covers components, templates, forms, services, RxJS and application structure, helping focus follow-up time on relevant areas.
A basis for targeted discussion
Use responses to choose which parts of an Angular work sample or interview deserve closer review.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Assessment integrity features
The Angular assessment takes 10 minutes. Candidates see one question at a time and cannot go back to an earlier question. Each candidate gets a different set of questions from large pools; question order and answer options are shuffled. Answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Server timing means reloading restores the same question with only the time left. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers faster than a question can be read. An Integrity Score and evidence timeline are provided for employer review; the score never decides on its own. With candidate consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as evidence
Review the score alongside an Angular work sample and a structured interview; do not use it alone to make a hiring decision. Ask the candidate to work through a small component or template task and explain their choices. Then use the assessment results to guide consistent follow-up questions. Vragen voor gestructureerde sollicitatiegesprekken
How would you organize an Angular application for a feature that has several related views?
Listen for a clear explanation of how they would divide the feature and use modules or other application structure.
Tell me how you would investigate a template that displays unexpected data.
Listen for a step-by-step approach to inspecting the template, directives, pipes and relevant component code.
How would you decide what belongs in a service when building an Angular feature?
Listen for reasoning about the feature’s needs, how the service fits, and whether RxJS is relevant.
Understand scoring and benchmarks
Fairness and accommodations
Every question is about Angular code shown on screen, in plain US English with short sentences, so reading speed and language background matter as little as possible. Sample data uses neutral settings such as tasks, rooms and orders, with names from many backgrounds and no money. Questions target current Angular, name the version whenever a feature depends on it, and avoid rarely used APIs that test memory of the documentation rather than skill.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
Test details
A short, timed check of practical Angular knowledge for developers who build applications with the framework. Candidates read small TypeScript and template snippets and decide what they do, what goes wrong, or which approach fits Angular's recommended practices, across components, templates and forms, services with RxJS, and how an application is organized.
- Questions are in English.
- No aids are needed.
- Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.
- 4 practice questions, 3 minutes, before the timed test.
