What this assessment can show
Applied judgment, not a resume summary
Workplace scenarios show how candidates choose a next step, interpret facts, and decide what could help during organizational change.
A view across the change process
The questions cover planning and impact, stakeholder engagement and messaging, guiding teams through transition, and tracking adoption and results.
A focused starting point
Use the results to focus follow-up on the candidate's reasoning about change, rather than spending interview time establishing only what their resume says.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals
Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large question pools. Questions appear in a different order for each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time, while answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server; reloading returns the same question with only the time left. Candidates cannot return to earlier questions. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and blocked copy attempts are recorded in the timeline. Personal invitation links expire, and a finished test cannot be taken again. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and answers faster than a question can be read in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for employer review. It does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, employers can add webcam photos at random moments. See how we build our tests.

Use the score as evidence to review
Treat the score as one signal for a person to review, not as a decision or a substitute for role-specific evidence. Pair it with a work sample based on a change relevant to the role, such as asking the candidate to outline how they would scope an impact, engage affected people, or check adoption. Use a structured interview to explore their reasoning. For more on this approach, read our pre-employment testing guide or browse the test library.
Explore their change judgment
Tell me about a change you helped introduce. How did you decide who needed to be involved and what to communicate?
Listen for how they identified affected people, adapted messaging to the situation, and explained their choices.
Describe a change that did not go as planned. What did you notice, and what did you do next?
Look for a clear reading of the situation, a considered response, and attention to how the change affected the team.
How would you check whether a revised process had been adopted and was producing the intended result?
Listen for a practical way to track both adoption and results, and how they would respond to what they found.

Fairness and accommodations
Questions test applied judgment in plain workplace scenarios, never recall of a named change model, its author or its jargon. Settings span many industries and sizes of organization, names come from many backgrounds and ages, and no question depends on local law, money, idioms or holidays. Numbers in the tables are small enough to compare without a calculator, and scratch paper is allowed for everyone.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
