What this test adds to your hiring process

  1. See choices in realistic scenarios

A resume describes experience, while this test asks candidates to respond to calendars, competing requests, unexpected problems, messages and calls.

  2. Cover several assistant tasks at once

One 10-minute assessment covers priorities, workplace problem handling, business writing and spoken exchanges for staff supporting senior leaders.

  3. Focus follow-up interviews

Use candidates’ responses to choose which calendar, message-writing or call-handling situations to explore in a structured interview.

Test delivery and integrity signals

The 15 multiple-choice questions appear one at a time, and candidates receive different questions and question orders. Answer options are shuffled. The 10-minute timer runs on the server; if a candidate reloads the page, the same question returns with only the time left. Candidates cannot go back to earlier questions. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and blocked copy attempts are recorded in the timeline. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers faster than a question can be read. The employer can review those signals in an Integrity Score with an evidence timeline. It does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as one piece of evidence

Review the score alongside a work sample and a structured interview. For a work sample, ask candidates to organize a sample calendar or revise a business message, then discuss their choices. The test score is evidence for a person to review, not a decision by itself. Compare the role scope with the Administrative Assistant test, and see our pre-employment testing guide and candidate-friendly hiring guide for further hiring guidance.

Vragen voor gestructureerde sollicitatiegesprekken

  1. A senior leader has two competing requests and a calendar conflict. How would you work out what to address first?

Listen for how the candidate clarifies priorities, considers the calendar and communicates the next steps.

  2. Tell me how you would respond to an unexpected workplace problem while supporting a senior leader.

Listen for a clear account of how they would assess the situation, decide what to handle and relay information.

  3. How would you revise a written message that needs to be clear and appropriate for a business exchange?

Listen for attention to the message’s purpose, wording and the information the recipient needs.

Fairness and accommodations

Scenarios use general office settings, with times on the 24-hour clock, dates with the month as a word, and no money symbols, holidays, idioms or local customs. Names and roles come from many backgrounds, genders and ages, and leaders and assistants are not cast by stereotype. Every fact a question needs is stated in it, and the reading level matches what the role asks of daily email.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
