Candidate Privacy Notice
Information for candidates about assessment data, employer decisions, integrity evidence and privacy rights.
Last updated: 1 octobre 2026 · Version 1.0
1. The employer and HireValid
HireValid is operated by Recordskeeper Inc, a Delaware C-Corp. Our business mailing address is 2261 Market Street STE 86483, San Francisco, CA 94114. The employer inviting you generally decides why an assessment is used, which settings apply, who receives results and how long records are needed. We process assessment information on its documented instructions. Ask the employer for its own privacy notice and contact details; this notice supplements that information.
2. Assessment information
Depending on the assessment and enabled features, information may include your name and contact details, invitation identifiers, answers, work samples, scores, timings, technical events and relevant support messages. Monitoring must be described before participation. A website sample is a demonstration, not an employer assessment, and does not establish a verified employment score.
3. Purpose, access and decisions
Information supports administration, job-relevant evaluation, integrity review and troubleshooting. Access should be limited to authorized hiring personnel and service providers. Reports may inform a decision but must be considered with other relevant evidence. A focus change, paste event or unusual timing does not by itself prove misconduct. Ask the employer for human review and an opportunity to explain context.
4. Camera and biometric choices
Camera monitoring, where offered, requires a clear explanation of what is captured, why, who can access it and the retention period. An image is not necessarily a biometric template; processing face geometry for identification raises additional requirements. Required consent must be obtained before collection. Our website demonstrations do not activate your camera or collect biometric identifiers. See the Biometric Data Policy and request an alternative from the employer where needed.
5. Accommodations and sensitive information
Contact the employer before starting if you need an accessible format, adjusted timing or another reasonable accommodation. Provide only information needed to explain the requested adjustment, through an appropriate channel. Do not place medical records, government identifiers or unrelated sensitive information in free-text answers or website contact forms.
6. Retention and international transfers
The employer’s notice and applicable agreement determine retention and deletion instructions, including separate limits for monitoring material. Request the actual period from the employer; this notice does not promise a universal 12-month or 90-day retention setting. Legal preservation requirements may delay deletion, with access restricted to the relevant purpose. Applicable transfer safeguards must cover processing outside your jurisdiction.
7. Exercising your rights
Contact [email protected] or use the Privacy topic on our contact form. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity or authority; do not send identity documents unless requested through an appropriate channel. You can request the employer’s assistance with access, corrections, deletion, objections or a review of your result where applicable. We assist it with requests and do not independently override lawful instructions. You retain any right to contact a regulator or seek a remedy under mandatory local law.
8. Updates
The date shown identifies this notice version. A materially different assessment use or monitoring setting requires an appropriate updated notice and any consent required by law; participation in one assessment is not blanket permission for unrelated uses.
