The short answer
The B2C Telesales test is an intermediate, 13-minute hiring assessment for inbound and outbound telesales representatives, inside and remote sales agents, telemarketers, and customer-facing staff who sell by phone. Its call excerpts, activity tables and product comparisons measure judgment in target planning, rapport, needs-based pitching and handling objections.
What it measures
Judgment in consumer phone sales: planning calls toward a target, building rapport, pitching to needs, and handling objections and pressure.
Targets and call planning
Candidates use small numbers in activity questions to plan calls toward a target.
Trust and rapport
Call excerpts ask candidates to choose how to open a conversation and build trust with a consumer.
Needs and pitching
Product comparisons and caller statements test how candidates match an offer to a consumer's stated needs.
Objections, rejection and pressure
Candidates choose how to respond to objections, refusals and upset callers.
Question formats
Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
20 questions in 13 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
Inbound and outbound telesales representatives, remote and inside sales agents selling to consumers, telemarketers, and customer-facing staff who sell over the phone.
What this test adds to a resume
See judgment in phone-sales situations
A resume may describe sales experience. This test gives you evidence of how candidates approach call excerpts, consumer needs and objections.
Honest selling is what scores
Keyed answers reward honest, respectful selling to consumers, so the score reflects how a candidate sells without pressure tactics.
Focus follow-up on the role
Use answers about product comparisons and caller responses to choose specific points for a work sample or interview.
Refusals and upset callers
Some situations put the candidate on a call with someone who says no or is upset, so you see how they respond before you hear them on a live call.

Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity features
Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large pools. The questions and answer options appear in a different order, one at a time. The test is timed on the server, lasts 13 minutes, and does not let candidates return to an earlier question. Reloading restores the same question with only the remaining time. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded. HireValid summarizes review signals, such as time away from the test tab and answers faster than a question can be read, in an Integrity Score with an evidence timeline. The employer reviews that evidence; it does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, employers can add webcam photos at random moments. See how we build our tests.

Use the score as evidence to review
Treat the score as one source of evidence, not a pass mark or hiring decision. Pair it with a short work sample, such as asking the candidate to plan calls toward a target and respond to a fictional consumer's stated needs or objection. Then use a structured interview with the same job-related questions for each candidate. Compare the test, work sample and interview evidence before making a decision. For a broader look at sales hiring, see the Sales Aptitude test.
Structured interview questions
A consumer says they are interested but unsure which offer fits. How would you learn what they need and make a recommendation?
Listen for questions that clarify the consumer's stated needs and an explanation connecting those needs to an offer.
You have a call target and a limited block of calling time. How would you plan your calls?
Listen for a practical approach to organizing calls around the target and time available.
A caller refuses an offer and sounds upset. What would you say next?
Listen for a respectful response that acknowledges the caller and handles the refusal without pressure.

Fairness and accommodations
Situations use fictional, everyday consumer products and plain US English at an easy reading level, with no idioms, sports, holidays, brand names or currency symbols. Customers and agents have names from many backgrounds, ages and genders, and no scenario relies on a stereotype. Keyed answers reward honest, respectful selling that any market expects, not one country's sales scripts or rules. Scratch paper is allowed, and the numbers in planning questions are small enough to work without a calculator.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
