What this Hindi test adds to your hiring process
See specific language skills
The score gives evidence about vocabulary and grammar, sentence construction, reading workplace texts and understanding spoken Hindi, rather than relying only on a resume.
Check work-related Hindi
Questions use workplace situations and standard Hindi, making the results relevant to professional Hindi use in customer relations, operations or communications roles.
Use a consistent first check
Each candidate takes the same timed test format: 20 multiple-choice questions in 12 minutes. This gives you a shared starting point for reviewing candidates.
Focus follow-up on the role
Use the result to decide what to explore in a work sample or interview, including speaking and writing, which this test does not assess.
What you get for each candidate
A CEFR-aligned estimate of C1 or above: handles dense, formal and nuanced Hindi, implied meaning and register, with precise grammar and a wide vocabulary.
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals for employer review
Candidates receive different questions from large pools, in a different order, with shuffled answer options. The browser receives one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. The 12-minute timer runs on the server; reloading returns the same question with only the remaining time. Questions cannot be copied or selected, and blocked copy attempts are recorded in the timeline. Each invitation link is personal and expires, and a finished test cannot be taken again. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers faster than a question can be read. An Integrity Score and evidence timeline summarize signals for employer review; they do not make a decision. With candidate consent, employers can add webcam photos at random moments.

Treat the score as evidence, not a decision
Use the CEFR-aligned estimate from B1 to C1 alongside a role-relevant work sample and a structured interview. For example, ask the candidate to work through a Hindi-language task that reflects the role, then discuss their choices. The test covers vocabulary and grammar, sentence construction, reading and listening, but not speaking or writing. Do not use the score alone to decide. For other language hiring needs, see English Proficiency, Japanese Proficiency and French Proficiency.

Listen for a concrete explanation of how the candidate would apply Hindi at work, and follow up on skills not covered by the test.

Fairness and accommodations
Questions use workplace situations and standard Hindi, avoiding regional dialect, idioms, proverbs, festivals, currency and local references, and accepting both Sanskrit-origin and Urdu-origin words where standard Hindi uses both. Names come from many communities, regions and genders. Recordings are spoken clearly at a natural pace and played once. The level is a CEFR-aligned estimate from a short test, not a formal qualification, and speaking and writing are not tested.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it, and the level cut scores are set against the norming panel's results.
