الإجابة المختصرة
The React Native assessment is a 10-minute, 15-question test of practical knowledge for building mobile apps. Candidates read short scenarios and code snippets about screen output, component behavior, Android and iOS, and project workflow. It is designed for mobile developers with React Native experience or those moving from web React or native development.
ما الذي يقيسه
Practical React Native knowledge: building screens, using React state and effects, working with Android and iOS, and the day-to-day developer workflow.
UI development
Candidates reason about building screens and what a React Native screen will render.
React in practice
Questions cover React state and effects, including why a component may misbehave.
Native Android and iOS
Scenarios ask how an app works with Android and iOS.
Developer workflow
Candidates consider how a React Native project is run, debugged, and shipped.
Question formats
Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
Mobile developers who build and maintain React Native apps, from developers with a year or two of experience to those moving into React Native from web React or native Android or iOS work.
What this test can show
Applied code reading
See how candidates interpret short snippets and predict screen output, rather than relying only on resume descriptions.
Component reasoning
Snippets ask why a component misbehaves, probing React state and effects the way they show up in a real React Native screen.
Mobile platform context
Check how candidates think about app behavior across Android and iOS, alongside their React Native knowledge.
Workflow, not just components
Questions on how a project is run, debugged and shipped show whether a candidate can carry a change beyond the code itself.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals
Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large pools, in a different order, with shuffled answer options. The browser shows one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server; reloading returns the same question with only the remaining time. Candidates cannot go back. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and blocked copy attempts are recorded. Each invitation link is personal and expires, and a finished test cannot be taken again. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and answers given faster than a question can be read in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for employer review. It does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments. Read how we build our tests.

Use the score as evidence
Review the score alongside a React Native work sample and a structured interview. Ask the candidate to explain choices in a screen, state or effect scenario, and platform behavior. The score is one signal for a person to review, never a stand-alone decision. For web-only roles, see the React test; for another cross-platform framework, see Flutter. The pre-employment testing guide covers using test results in hiring.
Follow up with a structured interview
How would you trace a screen that shows outdated booking details after its state changes?
Listen for a clear debugging approach that connects the observed render to React state and effects.
How would you investigate a profile screen behaving differently on Android and iOS?
Look for a practical way to isolate and understand the platform-specific behavior.
Walk me through how you would debug a component that keeps updating after an effect runs.
Listen for reasoning about the component and its effect, not just a memorized definition.
How would you run, debug, and prepare a React Native project change for shipping?
Look for a coherent account of the day-to-day workflow relevant to the change.
Understand scoring and benchmarks
Fairness and accommodations
Questions are about the work itself: code a React Native developer reads and writes every day, with plain identifiers and neutral app scenarios such as task lists, bookings and profiles. Names in examples come from many backgrounds, the English is plain US English kept short, and no question rests on memorizing release numbers, rarely used command flags or a single company's in-house setup. Every question has its own short timer, the same for every candidate.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
Test details
A short, timed test of hands-on knowledge for building mobile apps with React Native. Candidates read small code snippets and short scenarios and decide what a screen will render, why a component misbehaves, how the app talks to Android and iOS, and how a project is run, debugged and shipped.
- Questions are in English.
- No aids are needed.
- Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.
- 4 practice questions, 3 minutes, before the timed test.

الأسئلة الشائعة
Does the React Native assessment depend on a particular version or setup?+
No. No question rests on memorizing release numbers, rarely used command flags or a single company's in-house setup. Questions use code a React Native developer reads and writes every day, with plain identifiers and neutral app scenarios such as task lists, bookings and profiles.
Can candidates use aids during the React Native assessment?+
No aids are allowed for this test. Candidates also cannot go back to an earlier question. Each question has its own short timer, which is the same for every candidate.
Who is the React Native assessment designed for?+
It is for mobile developers who build and maintain React Native apps. That includes developers with a year or two of experience and developers moving into React Native from web React or native Android or iOS work.
How can candidates preview the React Native assessment format?+
The practice set has four questions and takes three minutes. It gives candidates a chance to see the multiple-choice format before the 10-minute test, which focuses on practical mobile app work.
