الإجابة المختصرة

The Conducting Interviews test is an intermediate, scenario-based assessment for people who interview others at work. It measures how candidates plan conversations, ask open and neutral questions, listen to answers and adjust when a conversation changes direction. Scenarios cover hiring, research, sales and reporting, making it relevant to recruiters, hiring managers and others who conduct interviews.

ما الذي يقيسه

Planning interviews, asking good questions, listening closely to answers and adjusting when a conversation changes direction.

Planning the conversation

Candidates plan question lists for conversations with people being interviewed.

Asking open, neutral questions

Candidates choose or repair questions to keep them open and neutral.

Listening and summarizing

Candidates read transcript excerpts and identify what was actually said.

Adapting during an interview

Candidates choose how to respond when a conversation goes off course.

Question formats

Multiple choice

The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.

You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.

15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.

Roles this test fits

People who interview others as part of their work: recruiters, HR generalists and specialists, hiring managers, market and user researchers, consumer researchers, sales staff running discovery calls, reporters, and content writers who interview subject experts.

What this test can show

  1. Planning beyond the resume

Scenarios ask candidates to plan question lists, giving you evidence of how they prepare for an interview conversation.

  2. Judgment in real exchanges

Candidates pick and repair questions, then interpret short transcript excerpts. This shows how they handle wording and listen for what was really said.

  3. Interviewing across settings

Scenarios span hiring, research, sales and reporting. The fairness approach uses plain language and general interviewing practice, rather than one field or country's customs.

Test integrity features

Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large pools. Questions appear in a different order for each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time; answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing also runs on the server. If a candidate reloads the page, the same question returns with only the time left. Candidates cannot go back. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. HireValid summarizes signals, such as time away from the test tab, in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for employer review. The score does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, employers can add webcam photos at random moments. Read how we build our tests for more.

Use the score as evidence

Treat the score as one piece of evidence for a person to review, not a decision. Compare it with a job-related work sample and a structured interview using the same questions for each candidate. For example, ask candidates to prepare a short interview plan or respond to a sample transcript, then discuss their choices. Consider which role-specific needs matter for the job. See the pre-employment testing guide and Talent Acquisition test for related hiring resources.

أسئلة المقابلة المنظّمة

  1. How would you prepare a question list for a conversation where the goal is to understand a person's experience?

Listen for a clear plan tied to the conversation's purpose and questions that invite a detailed response.

  2. How would you revise a question that seems to lead the interviewee toward a particular answer?

Listen for a neutral rewording that leaves room for the interviewee to respond in their own terms.

  3. What would you do if an interviewee's answer took the conversation off course?

Listen for a considered response that acknowledges what was said and redirects the conversation when appropriate.

Fairness and accommodations

Scenarios are spread across hiring, research, sales and reporting so no single field is favored, and they rely on general interviewing practice rather than any one country's laws or customs. Names come from many backgrounds, genders and ages, interviewees appear in varied roles without stereotypes, and the language is plain with no idioms, sports, holidays or money. Questions are kept short so the test measures interviewing judgment rather than reading speed.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
