It is designed for product managers and owners, product analysts, growth marketers, and team leads improving or taking products to market.

Question formats
Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
People who decide what a product does and why: product managers and owners, analysts who work on products, marketers focused on growth, and team leads who take products to market or improve them.
What this test adds to your hiring process
See judgment in context
Candidates respond to practical scenarios and evidence tables, showing how they weigh product findings beyond what a resume can describe.
Cover the product journey
One short test spans research, idea discovery, sprint planning and live-product decisions, helping focus follow-up interviews on relevant areas.
Keep interviews specific
Use the results to choose where to probe further, rather than spending interview time covering every stage of product work.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals for review
Each candidate gets a different set of questions from large question pools. Questions appear in a different order for each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time; answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. This 10-minute test does not allow candidates to go back. Reloading brings back the same question with only the time left. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers faster than a question can be read in an Integrity Score with an evidence timeline. An employer reviews that evidence; the score never decides on its own. With the candidate’s consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as evidence
Review the score alongside a work sample and a structured interview, never on its own. A work sample can ask candidates to respond to a product scenario relevant to the role. Use the test evidence to select follow-up areas, such as interpreting findings or adjusting sprint work. For related hiring needs, see Project Management or Scrum Master.
أسئلة المقابلة المنظّمة
A small table of user research points to two possible problems. How would you decide which to investigate first?
Listen for a clear link between the evidence, the user need and a proposed next step.
A product idea has mixed early findings. What would you test next, and what result would change your plan?
Listen for a focused test and a reasoned connection between findings and the next decision.
A sprint is underway when new information changes the product priority. How would you adjust the work?
Listen for a practical way to reassess priorities and communicate a change in delivery.

Fairness and accommodations
Scenarios use general products such as apps, online services and workplace tools, with no real company names, no money symbols and no knowledge of a particular market or country. Questions rely on widely shared product practice rather than one named framework, define any less common term they use, and use names from many backgrounds. Numbers are kept simple enough for scratch paper, and every candidate may use scratch paper.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
Test details
A short, timed set of practical product scenarios that follow a product from first research to launch and beyond. Candidates read research findings, choose which ideas to test and how, plan and adjust work in sprints, and decide what to do with a live product based on its numbers. Many questions show a small table of findings or results so the candidate works from the evidence given.
- Questions are in English.
- Aids allowed: Scratch paper.
- Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.
- 4 practice questions, 4 minutes, before the timed test.
