الإجابة المختصرة

The Blender test is a 10-minute, 15-question multiple-choice hiring assessment for intermediate 3D work. Short scenario questions measure scene basics, meshes, UVs and materials, rigging and animation, and lights, cameras and render settings. Use it to gather evidence about candidates for roles such as 3D generalist, modeler, character artist or animator.

ما الذي يقيسه

Working knowledge of Blender across scene basics, meshes, UVs and materials, rigging and animation, and lights, cameras and render settings.

Interface and scene basics

Questions cover finding your way around the interface and managing a scene.

Meshes, UVs and materials

Questions cover building meshes and setting up UVs and materials.

Rigging and animation

Questions cover rigging characters and animating with keyframes.

Lights, cameras and render settings

Questions cover lighting, render engines, cameras and output.

Multiple choice

The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.

You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.

15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.

Roles this test fits

Roles that build or present 3D content: 3D generalists, modelers, character artists, animators, VFX and motion graphics artists, concept and product visualization artists, game artists, and freelance 3D designers.

What the Blender test can show

  1. Check practical judgment

Scenario questions ask what to do or what will happen in a Blender task, beyond what a resume lists.

  2. Cover a broad 3D workflow

One test samples scene management, meshes, UVs, materials, character animation, lighting and rendering.

  3. Focus follow-up time

Use results to target a work sample and interview discussion around areas such as keyframes, node setups or render settings.

Test integrity features

Each candidate receives a different question set from large pools. Question order and answer options are shuffled, and the browser receives one question at a time while answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. The test runs for 10 minutes, and candidates cannot return to earlier questions. Reloading restores the same question with only the remaining time. Question text cannot be copied or selected. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers faster than a question can be read, then summarizes them in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for employer review. It never decides on its own. With consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments. Read how we build our tests.

Use the score as evidence

Review the score alongside a Blender work sample and a structured interview. Use it to identify topics to explore, not as a hiring decision on its own. Ask candidates to talk through a scene task, a mesh or UV choice, or a rendering problem relevant to the role. For a broader framework, see the pre-employment testing guide and candidate-friendly hiring guide.

أسئلة المقابلة المنظّمة

  1. A scene is difficult to navigate and organize. How would you approach improving it?

Listen for a clear workflow for finding tools and managing scene elements.

  2. A character needs to move through a short sequence. How would you plan the rigging and keyframes?

Listen for practical reasoning about rigging and animation choices.

  3. A rendered scene does not look as intended. How would you investigate the setup?

Listen for a considered approach to lights, cameras, render settings and output.

Fairness and accommodations

Questions ask about concepts and workflows rather than rare shortcuts. Any shortcut used is a common one from the default keymap, and the question also names the tool. Behavior is described as it works in current Blender 4.x releases, and nothing depends on a feature that changed between recent versions unless the question says which. Scenes use neutral, everyday objects and characters described without stereotypes. Settings shown in tables are written out in words, so nothing depends on recognizing a particular screen layout, and the questions can be read on any device.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.

Test details

Short scenario questions on working in Blender at an intermediate level. The test covers four areas: finding your way around the interface and managing a scene; building meshes and setting up materials and UVs; rigging characters and animating with keyframes; and lighting, render engines and output. Most questions describe a task or a problem in a scene and ask what to do or what will happen. Some show a modifier stack, a node setup or a list of keyframes as a small table.

  • Questions are in English.
  • No aids are needed.
  • Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.
  • 4 practice questions, 4 minutes, before the timed test.
