Question formats

Multiple choice

The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.

You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.

21 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.

Roles this test fits

Administrative and executive assistants, office coordinators, receptionists, data entry and customer support staff, and any role that spends the day working on a Windows computer.

Evidence of practical Windows skills

  1. Look beyond a resume

See how a candidate handles File Explorer listings and common Windows actions, rather than relying only on a description of their computer experience.

  2. Focus follow-up conversations

Use the results to choose which everyday tasks, settings, or Windows terms to explore further in an interview.

  3. Keep screening focused

The 10-minute test gives reviewers a targeted starting point for roles where daily work takes place on a Windows computer.

Test controls and review signals

Each candidate gets a different set of questions from large pools. Questions appear in a different order for each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time, while answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server; reloading brings back the same question with only the time left. The test lasts 10 minutes, and candidates cannot go back to an earlier question. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and blocked copy attempts are recorded. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes, and answers faster than a question can be read in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for the employer to review. It never decides on its own. With candidate consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as evidence

Review the score as one signal, not a verdict. Pair it with a short work sample, such as asking the candidate to explain steps for handling a folder listing or completing a common task in Settings. Use the same structured interview questions for each candidate. The test may support hiring for an Office Administrator, Receptionist, or Data Entry Clerk role, but a person should review all the evidence.

أسئلة المقابلة المنظّمة

  1. Tell me how you would organize a set of work files in File Explorer.

Listen for a clear sequence of actions and how they would keep related files and folders organized.

  2. Describe how you would approach a Windows task if the first action did not produce the expected result.

Listen for a practical next step, careful use of available settings, and an explanation of their choices.

  3. Walk me through how you would help a coworker find a file they had saved.

Listen for relevant questions, sensible File Explorer steps, and clear communication.

Fairness and accommodations

Questions describe Windows 11 with its default settings and a US English keyboard, and say so whenever a detail could differ. Each question shows the folder listing or steps it asks about in text and tables, so nothing depends on recognizing a particular screen or theme, and nothing relies on color. Scenarios use everyday office files and names from many backgrounds, with no money symbols, idioms or local knowledge.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
