الإجابة المختصرة

The deep learning test is a 10-minute, 15-question hiring assessment for machine learning and deep learning engineers, AI engineers, applied scientists, and analysts or developers who need intermediate skills. It measures mathematical foundations, network architecture, training and regularization, and neural networks for images through scenarios, training-result tables, and short Python snippets.

ما الذي يقيسه

Deep learning knowledge and judgment: the underlying math, network architecture, training and regularization, and neural networks for images.

Mathematical foundations

Covers the math behind training a deep learning model.

Network architecture

Covers choosing and reading network architectures.

Training and regularization

Covers training a model and using regularization.

Neural networks for images

Covers convolutional networks and their use with images.

Question formats

Multiple choice

The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.

You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.

15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.

Roles this test fits

Machine learning and deep learning engineers, AI engineers, applied scientists, and data analysts or developers whose work calls for intermediate deep learning skills.

A focused signal for technical hiring

  1. Look beyond the resume

See how a candidate interprets training-result tables and applies deep learning judgment, not just which tools or projects appear on a resume.

  2. Check four relevant areas

Review evidence across training math, network architecture, training and regularization, and neural networks for images in one short assessment.

  3. Focus the next conversation

Use answers to choose a relevant work sample or follow-up question, rather than spending interview time establishing what the candidate already knows.

  4. Keep the assessment concise

The 10-minute test uses 15 multiple-choice questions, including small scenarios, training-result tables, and short Python snippets.

Assessment integrity signals

Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large question pools. Questions appear in a different order for each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time; answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server, so reloading restores the same question with only the time left. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and answers faster than a question can be read in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for employer review. It does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, employers can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as evidence

Treat the score as one signal for a person to review, not a hiring decision. Pair it with a short work sample that asks the candidate to interpret training results or explain a model choice, then use a structured interview to explore their reasoning. Keep the work sample relevant to the role and assess it alongside the candidate’s other evidence. If you are hiring for broader technical scope, compare this assessment with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Science.

أسئلة المقابلة المنظّمة

  1. A model’s training results improve while its validation results worsen. How would you investigate what is happening and decide what to change?

Listen for how the candidate reads the results, considers regularization, and explains a practical next step.

  2. You need to choose a network for an image task with limited labeled examples. How would you compare possible approaches?

Listen for reasoning about network architecture for images, the task context, and tradeoffs rather than a memorized label.

  3. A short Python snippet produces an unexpected tensor shape during model training. How would you trace the issue?

Listen for a clear process for checking shapes, reading the code, and testing a change.

Fairness and accommodations

Questions use neutral scenarios from many industries, with no idioms, money or local knowledge. Code is short, framework-neutral Python with shapes and any library convention stated in comments, so no single library's habits decide an answer. The arithmetic is light enough for scratch paper, any logarithm or exponential a question needs is given in it, and names come from many backgrounds.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.

Test details

A short, timed check of working deep learning knowledge across four areas: the math behind training, choosing and reading network architectures, training and regularizing a model, and convolutional networks for images. Many questions are small scenarios, tables of training results or short Python snippets that ask what the candidate would conclude or change.

  • Questions are in English.
  • Aids allowed: Scratch paper.
  • Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.
  • 4 practice questions, 4 minutes, before the timed test.

الأسئلة الشائعة

What does the Deep Learning test measure?+

It measures mathematical foundations, network architecture, training and regularization, and neural networks for images. Questions may present small scenarios, tables of training results, or short Python snippets and ask what a candidate would conclude or change.

Who should use the Deep Learning test?+

Use it for machine learning and deep learning engineers, AI engineers, and applied scientists, as well as data analysts or developers whose work calls for intermediate deep learning skills. It is designed as a hiring signal to review alongside other evidence.

How long is the Deep Learning test, and can candidates go back?+

The assessment has 15 multiple-choice questions and a 10-minute limit. Candidates cannot go back to earlier questions. Scratch paper is allowed, and candidates can try a separate practice set of four questions with a four-minute limit.

Does the Deep Learning test favor one framework?+

No. Code is short, framework-neutral Python, with tensor shapes and any library convention stated in comments, so no single library's habits decide an answer. Any logarithm or exponential a question needs is given in it, and the arithmetic is light enough for scratch paper.

How should I interpret a Deep Learning test score?+

Review the score as evidence, not as a verdict or standalone hiring decision. Discuss relevant answers in a structured interview and pair the result with a work sample that reflects the role’s deep learning tasks.
