Roles this test fits
Any role where people juggle several tasks and deadlines: office and administrative staff, coordinators, analysts, project and operations teams, team leads, and early-career professionals in most fields.
What the test shows that a resume does not
Prioritizing
Almost everyone says they are organized. The scenarios show whether a candidate decides what comes first by deadlines and effort, not by what is easiest.
Planning
Whether a candidate lays out work ahead of time, including the small task tables many scenarios ask them to weigh.
Execution
Whether a candidate keeps work moving when interruptions and new requests arrive.
Reflection and communication
Whether a candidate tells the right people when plans change, instead of quietly missing a deadline.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
How this test resists AI assistance
Each candidate gets a different set of scenarios drawn from large pools, and the question order and response options are shuffled. Scenarios are served one at a time from the server, the answer keys never reach the browser, and there is no going back to an earlier scenario.
Question text cannot be copied, and a blocked copy is recorded. Each candidate uses a personal invitation link that expires. Signals such as time away from the tab, pastes and very fast answers are summarized in an Integrity Score with a timeline for the employer to review. The signals never decide anything on their own.

How to use the result with a work sample and interview
Read the result as evidence about judgment in typical situations, never as a decision on its own or a forecast that someone will never be late. Real workload, support and tools all affect delivery. Look beyond the total where the report shows sub-skills: a candidate who prioritizes well but rarely communicates changes needs a different conversation from one who communicates constantly but picks the wrong first task.
For shortlisted candidates, use a short inbox work sample: eight to ten messages from different people with different deadlines. Ask the candidate to turn them into an ordered task list, mark what they would push back on, and write one reply negotiating a deadline. Then use a structured interview with the same questions for every candidate.
Interview questions to pair with the test
Tell me about a week when you had more work than time. What did you do first, and who did you tell?
Listen for weighing deadlines and impact, and for telling people early what would slip.
Your manager adds an urgent task when your day is already full. What do you do?
Listen for making the trade-off visible and asking which task can move, rather than silent overload or a flat no.
How do you plan a large piece of work that is due in a few weeks?
Strong answers break it into steps with dates and flag dependencies on other people early.
Tell me about a deadline you missed or nearly missed. What did you change afterwards?
Listen for a specific example and a concrete change in how they work now.

Fairness and accommodations
Every scenario states the deadlines, effort and constraints it turns on, so no company's practices or local customs are needed, and the responses are alike in length and tone. Times are given in plain terms without holidays or regional calendars, and names come from many backgrounds without stereotypes.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.

الأسئلة الشائعة
What is on the HireValid time management test?+
Nine short workplace scenarios in 9 minutes, about deadlines, workloads and interruptions. Many include a small task table to weigh. Each scenario has four possible responses, and the candidate picks the one they think works best, with partial credit for the second-best response. It covers prioritizing, planning, execution, and reflection and communication.
Which roles need a time management assessment?+
Any role where people juggle several tasks and deadlines: office and administrative staff, coordinators, analysts, project and operations teams, team leads, and early-career professionals in most fields. For roles where work arrives in a steady, predictable flow, the test adds less, and a test of the core tools usually tells you more.
Is the time management test about working fast?+
No. It is about judgment: deciding what comes first, laying out work, keeping it moving and telling the right people when plans change. The time limit keeps the test short, but the scenarios reward sound priorities rather than speed, and accommodations such as extra time are available.
Does the time management test need knowledge of a particular company or method?+
No. Every scenario states the deadlines, effort and constraints it turns on, so no company's practices, planning method or local customs are needed. Times are given in plain terms without holidays or regional calendars, and the responses are alike in length and tone.
