简短回答

The Vue.js test is an intermediate, timed set of 15 multiple-choice questions about working with Vue 2. Candidates predict what code snippets do, spot bugs in components or stores, and choose approaches that follow the framework’s style guide. It measures core Vue, Vuex, routing, tooling, server rendering, and component design for front-end and full-stack developers.

测量内容

Working knowledge of Vue 2: reactivity, components, Vuex state management, routing, tooling, server rendering and sound component design.

Vue core and components

Candidates interpret Vue 2 reactivity and component code, including what a short snippet does.

State management with Vuex

Questions cover how Vuex manages application state and how to spot a bug in a store.

Routing, tooling and server rendering

Candidates work with questions about routing, Vue CLI projects, and server-side rendering.

Style guide and architecture

Questions ask candidates to choose component approaches that fit the framework’s style guide and sound design.

Multiple choice

The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.

You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.

15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.

Roles this test fits

Front-end and full-stack developers who build or maintain Vue 2 applications, including contributors to open-source projects built on Vue.js.

What this test can show

  1. Code behavior, not claims

Candidates predict what Vue 2 snippets do, giving you evidence of how they read application code beyond what a resume lists.

  2. Store-level reasoning

Bug-spotting questions cover components and Vuex stores, which can help you explore how a candidate handles state in your own work sample.

  3. Choices across the Vue stack

Questions cover Vue Router, Vue CLI projects, and server rendering, so you can discuss the parts of a Vue 2 application relevant to the role.

  4. Clear, work-focused wording

Short code excerpts and one-line questions avoid release-date trivia and editor preferences, with simple English for candidates who work in English as a second language.

Controls and evidence for review

Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large pools, with question order and answer options shuffled for each attempt. The browser shows one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server; reloading restores the same question with only the remaining time. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and blocked copy attempts are recorded. Personal invitation links expire, and a finished test cannot be taken again. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab and pastes into answers in an Integrity Score with an evidence timeline. This is evidence for you to review, not an automatic decision. With candidate consent, you can add webcam photos at random moments. See how we build our tests.

Use the score as one signal

Review the score alongside a work sample that reflects the role’s Vue 2 code, such as interpreting a component or working through a Vuex store issue. Then use a structured interview to ask each candidate the same job-related questions and explore their reasoning. The score is evidence for your review, not a stand-alone decision. For more context, see the pre-employment testing guide, or compare the React and Next.js tests.

结构化面试问题

  1. Tell me about a Vue 2 component you changed to make its behavior clearer. What did you change and why?

Listen for a concrete example, the candidate’s reasoning, and how the component design supported the application.

  2. Walk me through how you would investigate an unexpected state change in a Vuex store.

Listen for a step-by-step account of tracing the state behavior and narrowing down a possible bug.

  3. Describe a Vue 2 project where routing or server rendering affected your implementation choices.

Listen for a specific project decision and how the relevant routing or rendering needs shaped the approach.

Fairness and accommodations

Questions are short pieces of code with a plain one-line question, so the test rewards reading code rather than reading speed. Nothing asks for release dates, version trivia or a particular editor, and every fact a question relies on is part of everyday Vue 2 work. Names in the code are neutral, such as cart, task or profile, and the English is kept simple for candidates who work in English as a second language.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.

常见问题

Which version of Vue does the Vue.js test cover?+

The questions are written for Vue 2 applications, including Vuex for state, Vue Router and Vue CLI projects. If the role works mainly in a later version, check the version-specific parts in a work sample or interview.

Which roles fit the intermediate Vue.js test?+

It is intended for front-end and full-stack developers who build or maintain Vue 2 applications, including contributors to open-source Vue.js projects. Its intermediate level is suited to hiring for roles with that experience, rather than junior developer roles.

Can candidates use aids or return to a previous Vue.js test question?+

No aids are allowed, and candidates cannot go back after answering. The test works on a phone or a computer. Candidates can try a four-question practice set with a four-minute limit to get familiar with the multiple-choice format.

How are Vue.js test questions kept focused on job skills?+

The 15 questions use short pieces of code and a plain one-line question, so candidates demonstrate code reading rather than reading speed. They do not ask about release dates, version trivia, or a particular editor. Question facts come from everyday Vue 2 work.
