Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
People who handle everyday people matters: HR assistants, coordinators and generalists, recruiters, HR supervisors and advisers, people operations leads, and office or operations staff who look after hiring, records and employee questions.
What the test can show
See applied HR judgment
A resume describes experience; short workplace situations let you review how a candidate reasons about everyday people matters.
Review more than one HR area
The test covers employee relations, recruiting and development, HR records and processes, and workforce metrics in one short assessment.
Focus interview time
Separate results for employee relations, recruiting, HR records and workforce figures show which area to explore further, so the interview skips basics the candidate has already shown.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test design and integrity signals
Each candidate gets a different question set from large pools. Questions appear in a different order on each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server; reloading returns the same question with only the time left. Candidates cannot copy or select question text, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. Each personal invitation link expires, and a finished test cannot be taken again. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and answers given faster than a question can be read in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for employer review. It does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, employers can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as evidence
Review the score alongside a job-relevant work sample and a structured interview; do not use it alone to make a hiring decision. For example, ask the candidate to explain their approach to a simple employee-records or workforce-data scenario. See the HR Management test, Talent Acquisition test, and how we build our tests for related context.
结构化面试问题
How would you respond to an employee question that needs follow-up?
Listen for a clear next step, careful handling of the concern, and an explanation of when they would seek guidance.
How would you organize recruiting and staff-development tasks when both need attention?
Listen for a reasoned approach to the work, clear communication, and attention to the needs of the people involved.
Suppose you were given a small table of headcount and leavers by team. How would you use it to inform a people decision?
Listen for accurate reading of the figures, a relevant conclusion, and recognition of what the table does not show.

Fairness and accommodations
Questions rest on widely shared HR practice rather than the employment law of any one country, so no answer depends on a particular statute, form or agency. Situations use names from many backgrounds and avoid stereotypes about gender, age, origin or family life. There are no money symbols, idioms or local customs, and workforce figures use small whole numbers that scratch paper is enough for. The reading level is plain, and every question is short enough to read and answer within its time limit.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
