简短回答
The Autodesk Revit test is a 10-minute, 15-question multiple-choice assessment for intermediate-level hiring. Scenario questions cover building models, drawings, worksharing and coordination, and consistent project setup. Use it for architects, Revit modelers and technicians, BIM coordinators, engineers, designers, and contractors who build or manage Revit models.
测量内容
Practical knowledge of modeling, documenting, coordinating and setting up building projects in Revit.
Building modeling
Questions cover walls, floors, roofs, rooms, families, and their parameters in a building model.
Views, sheets and documentation
Questions cover views, view ranges, sheets, schedules, and annotation used to produce drawings.
Worksharing and coordination
Questions cover worksharing, linked models, and coordination with others.
Templates, parameters and phasing
Questions cover templates, object styles, parameters, phases, and coordinates used to keep a project consistent.
Question formats
Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
Architects, landscape architects, Revit modelers and technicians, BIM coordinators, structural and MEP engineers and designers, and contractors who build or manage Revit models.
What the Autodesk Revit test can show
Applied model judgment
A resume lists Revit experience. Scenario questions show how a candidate reasons about walls, floors, roofs, rooms, families, and family parameters.
Drawing workflow knowledge
The test asks about view ranges, sheets, schedules, and annotation, giving you specific topics to explore in an interview or work sample.
Coordination and setup choices
Questions cover worksharing, linked models, templates, phases, and coordinates. Use the results to focus follow-up rather than relying on a resume alone.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals for review
Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large question pools. Question order and answer options are shuffled, and the browser receives one question at a time. Answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. The 10-minute timer runs on the server; reloading restores the same question with only the time left. Candidates cannot go back to earlier questions. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and answers faster than a question can be read in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline. Review those signals yourself; they do not decide on their own. With candidate consent, you can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as evidence, not a verdict
Review the score alongside a work sample and a structured interview. Ask the candidate to explain choices in a Revit scenario, such as a room schedule that does not show an expected room or a linked model that needs coordination. The score should inform your review, not decide it. If you are hiring across related software roles, see the AutoCAD test and SolidWorks test. For assessment design context, read how we build our tests and the pre-employment testing guide.
结构化面试问题
A room schedule does not show a room as expected. What would you inspect in the model and schedule?
Listen for a reasoned investigation involving rooms, parameters, schedules, and the specific project situation.
A view on a sheet shows the wrong area of a building. How would you investigate and address it?
Listen for a practical approach involving the view, view range, sheet, and relevant annotation.
Two linked models need coordination, and a level appears different between them. How would you identify the issue and decide what to adjust?
Listen for a clear coordination process that considers linked models and project coordinates.
Understand scoring and benchmarks
Fairness and accommodations
Questions describe the model in words and small tables instead of screenshots of one release, and name tools and properties rather than ribbon locations or shortcuts, so candidates on different recent releases are not disadvantaged. Dimensions are metric, buildings are generic (offices, clinics, schools, homes), no question depends on a national building code or a particular company's template, and people named in scenarios come from many backgrounds.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
Test details
Scenario questions on working in Autodesk Revit at an intermediate level. They cover building the model (walls, floors, roofs, rooms, families and their parameters), producing drawings (views, view ranges, sheets, schedules and annotation), working with others (worksharing, linked models and coordination), and keeping a project consistent (templates, object styles, parameters, phases and coordinates). Each question describes a situation in a model, sometimes with a small table of properties, and asks what happens, why, or which approach is right.
- Questions are in English.
- No aids are needed.
- Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.
- 4 practice questions, 4 minutes, before the timed test.
