简短回答
The Microsoft Azure assessment is a 10-minute, 15-question test for cloud developers, cloud architects, DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers, and software engineers who build or run services on Azure. Its multiple-choice workplace scenarios measure judgment in security, operations and reliability, performance, and cost optimization, sometimes using a small configuration snippet.
测量内容
Judgment in Azure design choices for security, operations and reliability, performance, and cost.
安全
Looks at choices for protecting Azure resources in the situation described.
Operations and reliability
Covers choices for keeping services healthy and recoverable.
Performance efficiency
Covers design changes that help services stay fast under load.
Cost optimization
Looks at choices for keeping workload spending under control.

Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
Cloud developers, cloud architects, DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers and software engineers who build or run services on Azure.
See Azure judgment beyond the resume
Review decisions, not just experience claims
Scenario questions show how candidates choose among Azure design options for security, reliability, performance, and cost.
Keep screening focused
The 10-minute test gives you a concise signal before spending more interview time exploring a candidate's Azure experience.
Match the test to the role
Use it for intermediate cloud and DevOps hiring, including cloud developers, architects, and engineers who operate Azure services.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals for review
Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large question pools. Questions appear in a different order for each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time, while answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. The 10-minute timer runs on the server; reloading restores the same question with only the remaining time, and candidates cannot go back to earlier questions. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and answers faster than a question can be read. Employers can review an Integrity Score and evidence timeline; neither makes a decision on its own. With candidate consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as one piece of evidence
Treat the result as evidence for a person to review, not a hiring decision. Pair it with a short work sample that asks the candidate to explain or improve an Azure workload design, then use the same structured interview questions for each candidate. Explore related skills with AWS, Kubernetes, DevOps or Terraform if they are relevant to the job.
结构化面试问题
A service your team runs in Azure is slowing down under load. How would you investigate the situation and choose a change?
Listen for a clear approach to performance and the reasoning behind the proposed change.
How would you design an Azure workload so the team can recover if a service becomes unavailable?
Listen for practical choices about keeping services healthy and recoverable.
Your team needs to protect an Azure resource while keeping its service usable. How would you weigh the design options?
Listen for security considerations and a reasoned explanation of the trade-offs.
Understand scoring and benchmarks
Fairness and accommodations
Questions are short workplace scenarios in plain US English with names from many backgrounds and no idioms or local knowledge. Costs are compared in relative terms or neutral units, never in a currency. Services are described by what they do as well as by name, so a candidate who knows the concept is not tripped up by a recent product rename, and every fact a question relies on beyond common Azure practice is stated in it.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.

Each question describes a team's situation, sometimes with a small configuration snippet, and asks which design choice or change fits it best. The questions cover protecting resources, keeping services healthy and recoverable, making them fast under load, and keeping spending under control.
- Questions are in English.
- No aids are needed.
- Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.

常见问题
What does the Microsoft Azure assessment measure?+
It measures judgment in Azure design choices for security, operations and reliability, performance, and cost. Candidates answer 15 multiple-choice workplace scenario questions in 10 minutes. Some questions include a small configuration snippet and ask which design choice or change best fits the situation.
Who should take the Microsoft Azure assessment?+
It is intended for intermediate hiring of cloud developers, cloud architects, DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers, and software engineers who build or run services on Azure. Use it when those responsibilities include choices about protecting resources, service health and recovery, performance under load, or spending.
How does the Microsoft Azure assessment handle product names and costs?+
Questions describe services by what they do as well as by name, so a recent product rename is not the only way to recognize a concept. Costs are compared in relative terms or neutral units, not currency. Questions use plain US English, and any fact they rely on beyond common Azure practice is stated in the question.
How should I interpret Microsoft Azure assessment reliability?+
Reliability is provisional and will be reported once 200 candidates have completed the test. Until then, use an individual result as one signal for review, alongside a work sample and structured interview, rather than as a stand-alone hiring decision.
