The shift coordination test is an intermediate hiring assessment for shift supervisors and coordinators, team leads, duty and floor managers, and assistant managers. Question formats
Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
Shift supervisors and coordinators, team leads, duty and floor managers, and assistant managers in warehouses, retail, hospitality, call centers, healthcare support and manufacturing.
What this test can show
Schedule choices in context
Small schedule tables show how candidates fill shifts using the hours limits or rest gaps stated in the question, rather than relying on unstated local rules.
Responses when plans change
Brief workplace situations show how candidates handle a shift disruption and keep the team’s work moving.
What the next shift needs to know
Handover questions show what a candidate chooses to pass between shifts and how they keep the team updated, a skill that rarely shows up on a resume.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals
Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large question pools. Questions appear one at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing also runs on the server. If a candidate reloads the page, the same question returns with only the remaining time. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. Questions and answer options appear in a different order for each attempt. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and answers faster than a question can be read. These are summarized in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for the employer to review; they do not decide on their own. Browse the test library to compare hiring assessments.

Use the score as evidence
Review the score alongside a work sample and a structured interview; do not use it alone to make a hiring decision. A relevant work sample could ask the candidate to respond to a shift change using the rules provided in the task. Compare that reasoning with their assessment responses. See the pre-employment testing guide for broader hiring context.
结构化面试问题

Listen for a clear way to review staffing needs, apply the stated limits, and communicate the change.
What information would you pass to the next shift after an unexpected disruption?
Listen for relevant updates, what remains unfinished, and how the team can continue the work.
How would you keep a shift’s tasks moving when new work interrupts the plan?
Listen for how the candidate directs workload and keeps people informed as priorities change.

Fairness and accommodations
Questions use settings common across many industries and countries, and every staffing rule, rest gap or hours limit is stated in the question, so no local labor law or company practice is needed. Names come from many backgrounds and are spread across roles without stereotypes, times use the 24-hour clock, dates write the month as a word, no money appears, and the reading level is kept plain so the test measures coordination rather than reading speed. Scratch paper is allowed for every candidate.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
