Kısa yanıt

The Big Five Personality Profile is 40 statements about everyday working habits, rated on a five-point agreement scale in 10 minutes. It shows how candidates describe their own working style across five traits. It is a profile, not a grade, with no right answers and no better end of any trait.

What it describes

A profile, not a grade: no trait end is better than the other.

Openness

Lower: Prefers familiar, proven ways of working and practical, concrete tasks over new ideas and untested approaches.

Higher: Enjoys new ideas, unfamiliar problems and trying different ways of working; curious about how things could be done.

Conscientiousness

Lower: Works flexibly and spontaneously, prefers loose plans, and may give less attention to routine detail and follow-through.

Higher: Plans ahead, keeps track of details and commitments, and prefers to finish tasks in an orderly, thorough way.

Extraversion

Lower: Prefers quieter settings, focused work alone or in small groups, and tends to think before speaking up.

Higher: Gains energy from people and activity, speaks up readily, and enjoys busy, social settings at work.

Agreeableness

Lower: Speaks frankly, questions others' views, and is comfortable pressing a point or competing when it matters.

Higher: Cooperative and accommodating, looks for common ground, and tends to trust colleagues and put the team's needs first.

Emotional steadiness

Lower: Feels pressure, setbacks and criticism strongly and may take longer to settle after a stressful moment.

Higher: Stays even and composed under pressure, recovers quickly from setbacks, and is rarely unsettled by criticism.

How the profile is delivered

There are no right answers to look up; very even or rushed answering appears as a signal for the employer to review, never a decision.

Read it as a profile, not a grade

Read it as a self-description. Never screen or rank anyone by a trait; judge skills with a work sample and a structured interview, as for a Customer Support Agent or Office Administrator.

Yapılandırılmış mülakat soruları

  1. Tell me about a time you changed how you did a piece of work.

Listen for how they weighed old and new ways.

  2. How do you keep track of commitments when several tasks are due at once?

    Listen for a concrete method.

  3. Describe a time you disagreed with a colleague about the work. What happened?

Listen for what they did, not one right style.

Fairness and accommodations

There are no right answers, and no trait end is better than the other: the profile describes how candidates see themselves at work, never a diagnosis or a judgment of character. Statements use plain words about everyday work, about a third are worded in the opposite direction, and they avoid clinical terms, private life, and habits that different cultures value differently.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it. Until then, read the profile as a self-description to discuss in an interview, not as a fixed measure.

Sık sorulan sorular

Are there right answers on the Big Five Personality Profile?+

No. Candidates rate how well each statement describes them at work, and neither end of any trait is better. It is a profile, not a grade or a judgment of character.

Can I use a trait score to screen candidates out?+

No. Both ends of every trait suit some work and some teams. Use it to choose interview topics, and decide on job-related evidence such as a work sample.

How are the statements written to be fair?+

They use plain words about everyday work, with no clinical terms, private life or culture-specific habits, and about a third are worded in the opposite direction.

What happens before the real statements?+

A practice set of 4 statements in 2 minutes shows the scale. No aids are needed. Reliability is provisional until 200 candidates have completed it.
