Roles that make or advise on business decisions: strategy and management consultants, business and corporate development leads, general managers and executives, private equity and investment associates, and senior business analysts.

What this test adds to your hiring process

  1. See judgment, not just experience

Candidates choose a course of action in business cases, giving you evidence of how they weigh value, risk and constraints beyond what a resume describes.

  2. Cover several decision areas

One 10-minute test samples strategy, sales and pricing, operations, and finance and deals for roles with broad business responsibilities.

  3. Assess the reasoning behind a choice

Partial credit for the second-best course recognizes that the score reflects how well a candidate weighs the case, not just whether they picked one answer.

  4. Keep the initial assessment focused

Use 10 questions to add a defined, short assessment before spending interview time exploring a candidate’s decisions.

Test conditions and integrity signals

Each candidate receives a different set of questions from large pools. Questions appear in a different order on each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server; reloading restores the same question with only the remaining time. Candidates cannot go back to earlier questions. Text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and unusually fast answers in an Integrity Score with an evidence timeline for employer review. It never decides on its own. See how we build our tests.

Use the score as evidence

Review the score alongside a relevant work sample and a structured interview. It is evidence for a person to consider, not a pass mark or a hiring decision. Discuss how the candidate weighed the facts, figures and limits in a case. For guidance on combining assessments in hiring, read our pre-employment testing guide. Yapılandırılmış mülakat soruları

  1. Tell me about a business decision where you had to weigh value, risk and constraints. How did you decide what to recommend?

Listen for a clear account of the options, relevant facts and tradeoffs, plus how the candidate reached a recommendation.

  2. Describe a time you advised on a sales, pricing or marketing decision. What information shaped your advice?

Listen for how they used the available information and considered commercial tradeoffs, rather than relying on a definition.

  3. Walk me through a decision involving finance or a deal. What limits mattered, and how did you reach your recommendation?

Listen for attention to stated constraints, a reasoned comparison of options and a clear explanation of the choice.

Fairness and accommodations

Every case states the facts, figures and limits it turns on, so no industry specialty, country's law or tax rules, or named framework is needed. Money appears as plain numbers with no currency, any comparison can be made in the head, and the four courses of action in each case are alike in length and tone. Names and settings come from many backgrounds, with no person drawn from a stereotype.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: there are no norms yet, and reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
