What this test can show
See applied financial judgment
Short cases and small tables show how candidates approach cash flow, project choices and budgets, beyond the claims in a resume.
Focus on relevant finance work
The questions cover liquidity, investment evaluation, funding costs and forecasting, giving you evidence tied to the responsibilities of the role.
Keep the initial check focused
Fifteen multiple-choice questions take 10 minutes. Candidates may use a calculator and scratch paper, so you can review a defined set of work-related responses.
Add evidence to your hiring review
Use the result to guide follow-up, rather than relying only on a candidate’s account of their experience or treating a score as a decision.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test delivery and review signals
Each candidate receives a different question set drawn from large question pools. Questions appear in a different order on each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time; answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. The 10-minute clock runs on the server, and reloading returns the same question with only the time left. Candidates cannot copy or select question text; a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and answers faster than a question can be read. These appear in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline for employer review; it never decides on its own. With candidate consent, employers can add random webcam photos.

Use the score as one source of evidence
Review the Financial Management test score alongside a work sample and a structured interview. For example, ask the candidate to work through a cash planning or project choice scenario, then compare their reasoning with the test evidence. Use follow-up questions to understand how they handle funding costs and forecast variances. The score should support a person’s review, not decide whom to hire.
