Each candidate receives a different set of questions, with question order and answer options shuffled. The browser shows one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. The 10-minute timer runs on the server; reloading restores the same question with only the remaining time, and candidates cannot go back. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. Fairness and accommodations

Questions use everyday business data such as units, orders, hours and regions, with no money symbols, dates written with the month as a word, and product behavior as it works in the current Power BI Desktop and service with US settings. Licensing, pricing and preview features are left out. Every table, query step and chart a question needs is shown in the question, so nothing depends on remembering a particular screen or menu path, and charts are asked about by their values and labels, never by color. The test asks for a computer so tables and charts are large enough to read.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
