Kısa yanıt

The Basic Triple-Digit Math test is a 10-minute, 15-question hiring screen for entry-level roles where people work out numbers by hand. It measures speed and accuracy with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, time calculations, rounding, prime numbers and simple fractions. Questions use work situations such as stock counts, packing and shift schedules.

Ölçtüğü şey

Accuracy and speed with three-digit arithmetic, time calculations, rounding and simple fractions.

Addition and subtraction

Candidates add and subtract three-digit quantities in everyday work situations.

Multiplication and division

Candidates multiply and divide quantities such as items or boxes.

Time calculations

Candidates work out times and durations, including shift schedules.

Rounding, primes and fractions

Candidates round numbers and work with prime numbers and simple fractions.

Question formats

Multiple choice

The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.

You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.

Numeric answers

The candidate: Works out a figure and types the number.

You see: Accurate working with numbers, without options to guess from.

15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.

Roles this test fits

Entry-level roles that use numbers every day: manufacturing and production line work, warehouse and industrial roles, cashiers and retail staff, hospitality teams, and other jobs where counts, quantities and times are worked out by hand.

A focused view of everyday arithmetic

  1. Primes and simple fractions

A number-sense section adds prime numbers and simple fractions beside rounding, which neither of the other basic math tests covers.

  2. Numbers in the hundreds

Questions draw on stock counts, packing and shift schedules with three-digit quantities, for roles where totals run into the hundreds.

  3. Worked out by hand

Every answer is a whole number or a clock time that can be found with scratch paper, so the result reflects working, not calculator use.

Test design and review signals

Each candidate gets a different set of questions from large question pools. Questions appear in a different order for each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server. Reloading brings back the same question with only the time left, and candidates cannot go back. Question text cannot be copied or selected. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers given faster than a question can be read. An Integrity Score and evidence timeline summarize signals for an employer to review; neither decides on its own. With candidate consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as one piece of evidence

Review the score alongside a short work sample involving quantities, packing or shift times. Use the sample to see how a candidate approaches the arithmetic, then ask the same structured interview questions of each person. Consider the role’s actual number-handling needs, and do not use the score alone to decide. For related hiring measures, see Intermediate Math and Numerical Reasoning. Yapılandırılmış mülakat soruları

  1. When checking a stock count after items have been added or removed, how would you work out the new total and check it?

Listen for a clear addition and subtraction approach and a way to verify the result.

  2. If you needed to divide a quantity of items evenly across boxes, how would you work out the amount for each box?

Listen for a practical division method and a check that the quantities add back to the total.

  3. How would you work out when a shift ends if you know its start time and duration?

Listen for a logical way to calculate elapsed time and confirm the end time.

Fairness and accommodations

Questions use everyday work quantities such as items, boxes, kilograms and minutes, with no money symbols, idioms or local knowledge. Times use the 24-hour clock, names come from many backgrounds, and the wording is kept short and plain so the test measures arithmetic rather than reading. Scratch paper is allowed for every candidate, and every answer is a whole number or a clock time that can be worked out by hand.

You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.

Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.

Sık sorulan sorular

Who is the Basic Triple-Digit Math test for?+

It is designed for entry-level roles that use numbers every day, including manufacturing and production line work, warehouse and industrial roles, cashier and retail work, and hospitality teams. It can also suit other jobs where people work out counts, quantities and times by hand.

What does the Basic Triple-Digit Math test cover that simpler math tests do not?+

It works with numbers in the hundreds and adds a number-sense section on rounding, prime numbers and simple fractions. Times use the 24-hour clock. For one- and two-digit numbers, see the Basic Double-Digit Math test; for the four operations alone, see Basic Math Calculations.

Can candidates use scratch paper on the Basic Triple-Digit Math test?+

Yes. Scratch paper is allowed, and the questions are designed to be worked out by hand without a calculator. The wording is short and plain, with everyday quantities such as items, boxes, kilograms and minutes. It avoids money symbols, idioms and local knowledge.

Is there a practice set for the Basic Triple-Digit Math test?+

Yes. Candidates can try a practice set with 4 questions and a 3-minute time limit. It shows how numeric and multiple-choice questions look on screen before the timed test, so the first scored question is not also the first one they see.
