What this test can show
See practical receivables work
A resume can list billing experience, but this test shows how a candidate handles entries, aging reports and customer balances.
Focus your review
Use evidence across posting, collections, reconciliation and record gaps to guide follow-up, rather than reviewing experience alone.
A short, focused check

What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals
Each candidate gets a different set of questions from large question pools. Questions appear in a different order for each attempt, and answer options are shuffled. The browser receives one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. Timing runs on the server. Reloading returns the same question with only the time left, and candidates cannot go back to earlier questions. Question text cannot be copied or selected; blocked copy attempts are recorded in the timeline. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers given faster than a question can be read. An Integrity Score and evidence timeline summarize these signals for employer review. The score does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments. Read how we build our tests for more.

Use the score as evidence
Treat the score as one signal to review, not a hiring decision. Score consistency is provisional, so consider it alongside a work sample, a structured interview and other evidence. A work sample can ask a candidate to explain how they would match a customer ledger to a control account using supplied details. For related role context, see our Bookkeeper role page and pre-employment testing guide.
Yapılandırılmış mülakat soruları
A customer’s ledger does not match the control account. How would you investigate the difference?
Listen for a clear reconciliation process and attention to the records and amounts involved.
An aging report shows an overdue balance. How would you decide what action to take?
Listen for use of the stated credit and collection policy and a reasoned next step.
A receipt is recorded, but a detail needed to post it is missing. How would you work through the record?
Listen for careful use of available information and a sensible way to resolve the gap.
Understand scoring and benchmarks
Fairness and accommodations
Amounts are written as plain numbers with no currency symbol, and no question depends on one country's tax rules, laws or reporting standards: any policy or method a question needs, such as the write-off method or the payment terms, is stated in the question. Account names use common, plain terms, customer and staff names come from many backgrounds, dates are written with the month as a word, and a calculator and scratch paper are open to every candidate so the test measures receivables judgment rather than mental arithmetic.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: score consistency will be reported once 200 candidates have taken the test. Until then, read a score alongside interviews and other evidence.
Test details
A timed, practical check of day-to-day receivables work. Candidates post invoices, receipts, credit notes and write-offs, read aging reports and apply credit and collection policies, match a customer ledger to its control account or to bank deposits, and work out an amount or detail a record leaves out. Each question gives the facts and the company policy it needs in a short scenario or small table.
- Questions are in English.
- Aids allowed: A calculator, Scratch paper.
- Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.
- 4 practice questions, 4 minutes, before the timed test.
