Check transaction recording
Journal-entry questions show whether candidates apply debits and credits when recording transactions.
Review calculations and records
Depreciation, lease liability and impairment calculations, alongside reconciliations and period-end adjustments, give you specific areas to discuss.
Focus follow-up
Use results to focus interview and work-sample questions on the candidate's applied accounting, rather than broad prompts.

Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity signals for review
The 10-minute test presents one question at a time. Each candidate gets a different set from large question pools; question order and answer options are shuffled. Candidates cannot go back. Reloading returns the same question with only the time left, because timing runs on the server. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded in the timeline. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers faster than a question can be read. It summarizes these in an Integrity Score with an evidence timeline for the employer to review. The score does not decide on its own. With the candidate's consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as evidence, not a decision
Review the score alongside a job-relevant work sample and a structured interview. A work sample can ask candidates to apply IFRS treatments, record entries or work through a reconciliation. Consider this alongside Financial Accounting (IFRS), Accounting Fundamentals and Financial Accounting (US GAAP) when choosing a test for the role. Use the test as one input, never as the sole basis for a hiring decision.

Fairness and accommodations
Amounts are shown in neutral currency units (CU), and no question depends on a country's tax law, local accounting rules or regulators. Companies have invented, neutral names, people's names come from many backgrounds, and the English is kept plain so the test measures accounting rather than reading. Every candidate may use the on-screen calculator and scratch paper, and questions follow the standards in effect when they were written.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
