Kısa yanıt
The UX/UI design test is a 10-minute set of practical design scenarios for intermediate UX designers, UI designers, product designers, and other interface-shaping roles. Its 15 multiple-choice questions measure judgment in user research, interface principles, developer handoff, and prototyping and usability testing. Candidates read findings, screen details, or test results before choosing an answer.
Ölçtüğü şey

Question formats
Multiple choice
The candidate: Reads a short situation, table or statement and picks the right answer, or every right answer.
You see: Whether the candidate knows the material well enough to apply it, not just recognize it.
15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
UX designers, UI designers, product designers, interaction designers, web and mobile designers, and researchers or front-end developers who shape interfaces.
A practical signal for design hiring
Judgment from real findings
Many questions show a small table of research findings, test results or component details, so you see whether a candidate can read the evidence before choosing a design move.
Handoff skills, not just visuals
Questions on preparing designs for developers show whether a candidate thinks past the screen to how it gets built.
Independent of any design tool
No shortcuts or menus from one design tool appear, so a designer who learned on a different tool is judged on design decisions alone.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
How the test handles AI-related signals
Each candidate gets a different set of questions, with a different order and shuffled answer options. The browser receives one question at a time, and answer keys stay on HireValid’s servers. The 10-minute timer runs on the server; reloading restores the same question with only the time left. Candidates cannot copy or select question text, and a blocked copy attempt is recorded. A personal invitation link expires, and a finished test cannot be taken again. HireValid summarizes signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers, and unusually fast answers in an Integrity Score and evidence timeline. You review those signals; the score does not decide on its own. With candidate consent, webcam photos can be added at random moments.

Use the score as evidence
Treat the score as one signal for your review, not a pass mark or a hiring decision. Compare it with a relevant work sample and a structured interview about the actual role. For a wider view, you can also consider Design Thinking or Figma when those areas matter. The candidate-friendly hiring guide offers advice on the candidate experience.
Yapılandırılmış mülakat soruları
A research finding points away from an early design assumption. What would you do next?
Listen for how the candidate reads the finding, chooses a next step, and explains the reasoning.
How would you decide whether a screen is working well for its intended users?
Listen for considered interface judgments and how the candidate would use user findings.
What details would you share with a developer before handoff?
Listen for practical component details and a clear approach to preparing the design.
How would you plan a prototype test and use its results?
Listen for a test plan and a thoughtful interpretation of what the results show.
Understand scoring and benchmarks
Fairness and accommodations
Scenarios use generic apps and websites from many fields, with no brand names, no shortcuts or menus from any one design tool, and no money symbols or local customs. Names and users come from many backgrounds, ages and abilities, and stereotypes are avoided. Described screens never rely on color alone, and the reading level is plain so the test measures design judgment rather than reading speed.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
Test details
A short, timed set of practical design scenarios covering the work of a digital product designer. Candidates choose research methods and read user findings, judge screens against interface principles, prepare designs for developers, and plan and interpret prototype tests. Many questions show a small table of findings, results or component details to read before answering.
- Questions are in English.
- Aids allowed: Scratch paper.
- Each question is answered once, in order, with no going back.
- 4 practice questions, 3 minutes, before the timed test.
Sık sorulan sorular
Does the UX/UI Design test require a particular design tool?+
No. Scenarios use generic apps and websites with no brand names and no shortcuts or menus from any one design tool, so the score reflects design judgment rather than tool habits. If the role depends on a specific tool, you can add a tool test such as Figma to the same assessment.
How does the UX/UI Design test handle accessibility and fairness?+
Names and users in the scenarios come from many backgrounds, ages and abilities, and stereotypes are avoided. Described screens never rely on color alone. The reading level is kept plain, so the test measures design judgment rather than reading speed, and there are no money symbols or local customs to know.
Can candidates use scratch paper or try the UX/UI Design practice set?+
Scratch paper is allowed. Candidates can also take a separate practice set of four questions that lasts three minutes. The hiring test itself has 15 questions and lasts 10 minutes, so the practice set is a brief preview rather than the full assessment.
Which roles fit the intermediate UX/UI Design test?+
It is intended for intermediate UX designers, UI designers, product designers, interaction designers, web and mobile designers, and researchers or front-end developers who shape interfaces. Candidates can take it on a phone or a desktop computer.
