Kısa yanıt
The Adobe InDesign test is an intermediate hiring assessment of layout, text, graphics, color and output work. Its 15 multiple-choice questions describe realistic production tasks, often with a small table of panel settings. Use it to review working knowledge among graphic designers, desktop publishers, production artists and other creative staff who build or check InDesign documents.

Multiple choice

15 questions in 10 minutes, served one at a time.
Roles this test fits
Graphic designers, desktop publishers, production artists, layout and prepress staff, editorial assistants, marketing designers and creative leads who build or check InDesign documents.
What the test can show
Look beyond a resume
A resume lists experience; the test gives you evidence of how a candidate approaches layout and parent-page tasks.
Review production details
See how candidates handle text styles, graphics and color, rather than relying only on a description of their work.
Focus interview time
Use results to decide what to explore in a conversation, such as preparing a document for review or print.
Check relevant roles
Use it for graphic designers, desktop publishers, production artists, prepress staff and marketing designers who work with InDesign documents.
What you get for each candidate
- Stayed on the test tab throughout
- No pasted answers
- Answered at a steady pace
Scores, profiles and integrity signals are evidence for you to review alongside an interview, never an automatic decision.
Test integrity features
Each attempt draws a different set of questions from large pools. Question order and answer options are shuffled, and the browser receives one question at a time. The 10-minute timer runs on the server; reloading brings back the same question with only the remaining time, and candidates cannot go back. Question text cannot be copied or selected, and blocked copy attempts are recorded. HireValid records signals such as time away from the test tab, pastes into answers and answers given faster than a question can be read. An Integrity Score and evidence timeline are provided for the employer to review; neither makes a decision on its own. With candidate consent, an employer can add webcam photos at random moments.

Use the score as evidence
Review the score alongside a work sample and a structured interview, not as a verdict or a standalone hiring decision. A work sample can show how a candidate handles a relevant InDesign task; interview answers can add context to their approach. Yapılandırılmış mülakat soruları
Tell me about a layout you built or checked in InDesign. How did you use parent pages, and what would you change after review?
Listen for a clear account of the layout task, how parent pages fit the work and how feedback informed the next steps.
Describe a document where text styles or typography needed attention. How did you decide what to adjust?
Listen for a relevant example and a reasoned approach to working with text and styles in the document.
Walk me through preparing an InDesign file for review or delivery. What did you check about graphics, color and output?
Listen for concrete checks tied to the intended review, print or digital delivery and the candidate's role in the work.

Fairness and accommodations
Questions describe the task and its settings in words and small tables rather than screenshots, so nothing depends on a particular screen size, operating system or interface theme. Commands are named as they appear in current English versions on both Mac and Windows, keyboard shortcuts are never required, and color questions give swatch names and values instead of asking candidates to judge colors by sight. Scenarios use a range of publications and names from many backgrounds.
You can give any candidate extra time as an accommodation. Results are evidence for a person to review, never an automatic decision.
Provisional: reliability is reported once 200 candidates have completed it.
